New high-end office and retail building in the works for DI
A new high end office, retail and residential building will soon rise on the corner of River Landing Drive and Daniel’s Landing Drive on Daniel Island. The 18,000 square foot space, developed by S.L. Shaw & Associates, will sit on the other side of the large pond behind the Simmons Park apartment complex. Bridge Real Estate Advisors will serve as the leasing agent for the property.
Named “Daniel’s Corner,” the structure will be a multi-use, Class A building featuring retail and office space on the first level, office space on the second level, and two upscale residential units on the third floor. According to Alan Blom, Senior Advisor at Bridge Real Estate Advisors, the property will offer top of the line finishes, private balconies, ample parking, Charleston-inspired accents such as a brick floor and gas lanterns, as well as “boutique” style décor.
“What we’ve found is that a lot of retail and office users want a different type of property, a different feel,” said Blom. “And they like this kind of boutique style instead of a traditional office building.”
The developer constructed a similar property at 125 River Landing that was completed in 2015. That building is now fully occupied by a variety of businesses, including Momentum Marketing, L2NL, Bridge Real Estate Advisors, Sauer Grapes, Threshold Pediatrics, Barter Card, and Charleston Healthspan Institute. The property filled up quickly, noted Blom, and he is confident the new project will have similar success.
“We just feel there is a strong need on the island for good Class A and office space…We’ve already got great activity on the (new) building and we haven’t really even started to market it yet.”
