Owner Renee Smith says Subtle and Sass is more than just cute clothing and accessories; it's a place with a small-town shopping vibe where all customers are welcomed with a smile. Smith often has community gatherings at Point Hope, such as style classes, vision board workshops, crafting nights and networking events.
“Our team members use their exceptional styling talent to help you create the perfect look or pick out a thoughtful gift for a friend,” she said. “We carry casual styles as well as pieces you can dress up for a night out, brunch with friends, or a family gathering.”
Smith opened the original Subtle and Sass in Mount Pleasant in 2023. With the success of her first brick-and-mortar store, Smith opened another location in Point Hope.
“I knew it would be the perfect fit for the rapidly growing area. Point Hope is like no other, with its focus on community building. The Village Green, where my shop is located, is a hub for the entire area.”
Subtle and Sass elevates boutique services by offering free personal styling, closet makeovers, alterations, jean cutting, private shopping parties, delivery style boxes, and even rentals. “You can rent the perfect look for your occasion. The best part is that we take care of laundering.”
Lowcountry local Marsha Patel has been a happy customer for five years and appreciates the outfit rentals and other services.
