Community organizations prep for elections

Nominations for all three Daniel Island community organization boards open Tuesday, Sept. 30, with elections held mid-October.

The Daniel Island Town Association, Daniel Island Community Association, and Daniel Island Park Association will accept nominations through Monday, Oct. 6.

DITA, which includes all commercial properties, condominiums, and apartments on the island (not including Daniel Island Park Association or Daniel Island Community Association properties), will see its board become property-owner controlled in January 2026. 

Here are key dates for its 2025 election:

• Tuesday, Sept. 30: DITA Board nominations begin.

• Tuesday, Oct. 6, by noon: Last day to submit nominations.

• Oct. 14-20: Election of three DITA Board members.

• Wednesday, Nov. 5: DITA Annual Meeting, new board members announced.

The DICA includes all single-family homes and townhomes south of I-526 (not including Daniel Island Park Association or Daniel Island Town Association properties.)
