DI man arrested on four charges of sexual exploitation of a minor

On June 2, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of 34-year-old Thomas Parr Flood of Daniel Island on four charges of sexual exploitation of a minor second degree.

Detectives with the South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force teamed up with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and arrested Flood on May 29 after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Flood is listed as a resident of Brady Street on Daniel Island and is a registered sex offender, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Arrest records indicate that he has a prior conviction for a sex crime against a minor in 2023 in Long Beach, California.

An affidavit from Charleston County stated that Flood is suspected of distributing electronic files containing child sexual abuse materials.

The cyber tip reported that on February 15, a user of an online  application transmitted four files that contained child exploitation videos.

An investigation revealed that the IP address tracked to a residence in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Probable cause led to a search warrant at the residence, and authorities confiscated Flood’s personal cell phone at that address, which they said contained multiple artifacts linking it to the reported account.

Flood was booked at the Charleston County jail and was released the next day after posting a $100,000 bond, according to inmate records.

The felony is an offense punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment for each count.

Flood faces a maximum of 40 years of imprisonment if convicted.

The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
