DINA meeting on March 19 to review development, ports projects

The Daniel Island Neighborhood Association is set to host its quarterly meeting, updating the community on issues impacting residents.

DINA is a volunteer organization formed by residents and the only organization sanctioned in 1998 by the City of Charleston to represent all DI residents. 

At the March 19 meeting, speakers from the South Carolina Port Authority, city, county and police department will present residents details of ongoing projects, along with any new plans for the future.

Cami McCoy, manager of SPCA’s Executive Office Operations & Customer Support, will report on: 

• Long Point Road intersection funding 

• Leatherman terminal reopening

• Mitigation bank on Daniel Island west bank 

• Wando terminal expansion

• Rail yard addition

• West Rock (Westvaco) property purchase

• Don Holt bridge replacement

• Wando terminal barge proposal

Also presenting at the meeting will be Team 5’s Lt. George Bradley; Charleston City Council members Mike Seekings, District 8, and Boyd Gregg, District 1; and Berkeley County Councilman Jarrod Brooks, District 2.

The meeting will be held 6-8 p.m., at the Daniel Pointe Retirement Community, 514 Robert Daniel Drive. 

DINA's mission is to preserve and enhance the quality of life on Daniel Island. DINA is the recognized voice of all residents of Daniel Island in advocating for and resolving issues needing the attention of the City of Charleston, Berkeley County, and the State of South Carolina.
