On May 23, Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced the arrest of an Ohio man who was charged with the possession of narcotics at Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island.
Russell Hodgkinson, 51, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a scheduled narcotic, and trafficking LSD.
Deputies were patrolling the area on foot and observed an individual using a nitrous oxide tank. When deputies made contact with Hodgkinson, they detected the odor of marijuana. A probable cause search was initiated. During the search, deputies located a bag containing marijuana. Inside the suspect’s wagon, deputies said they found:
• One bag of white pills, later identified as methamphetamine
• Two bags of small, printed strips (1,070 total tabs) identified as LSD
• A small dropper tube containing a liquid, identified as LSD
• One bag of a green and white flaky material, identified as psilocybin mushrooms
Hodgkinson was detained and transported to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
His bond was set at $130,000 for all three charges.
