Rona Bobey wins Pick 'Em Challenge, defeating Garret McNally of Mac's Daniel Island

It didn't take long at all for Daniel Island resident Rona Bobey to prove her mettle against her weekly Pigskin Pick 'Em archrival – her husband, John.  

Bobey won the Week 12 contest with an 11-1 record and then aced the tiebreaker to win a $50 gift certificate to Mac's Daniel Island.  

"I play because I love the competition!" Bobey said.  

Her husband, John, won Week 9 last month and at the time, foreshadowed his wife's victory. 

"I like playing against my wife, who always has luck on her side," he said three weeks ago.  

Rona Bobey beat VIP sponsor Garret McNally of Mac's, who just fell short with a 10-2 record.  

Bobey is not new to winning, having had her photo published last year in the DI News when she went undefeated in December 2024 with a 12-0 record. 

"You can use last year's headshot," she joked. "It is a fun way for local businesses to support each other."
