Clements Ferry Rotary gains independence, encourages new members

The continued growth of the Clements Ferry, Cainhoy, and Point Hope communities has brought new opportunities for connection, service, and community leadership. One of the most exciting developments has been the emergence of the Rotary Club of Clements Ferry, which recently transitioned from a satellite club to an independent Rotary club.

Founded in 2022 as a satellite of the Rotary Club of Daniel Island, the club was created to meet the needs of the rapidly expanding communities along the Clements Ferry corridor. What began as a small group of service-minded neighbors has grown into an active organization dedicated to living Rotary's motto of "service above self."

The Rotary Club of Daniel Island played a critical role in the club's formation and success. From mentorship and leadership guidance to collaborative service projects and fundraising opportunities, Daniel Island Rotarians provided the support and foundation needed for the new club to flourish. Their willingness to invest time, experience, and resources exemplifies the spirit of Rotary fellowship and community partnership.

Today, the Rotary Club of Clements Ferry is making a measurable impact throughout the area. Members support Philip Simmons schools through hygiene closet initiatives, participate in food drives, assist local families with home repair projects, and partner with organizations addressing community needs. The club has also worked alongside Daniel Island Rotary on Habitat for Humanity projects and other service efforts benefiting the broader Lowcountry.

Even as the club has transitioned into its own independent organization, the relationship between the two clubs remains strong. Members continue to collaborate on service projects and community events, including the annual Charleston Charity Duck Race, a signature Rotary fundraiser that has generated millions of dollars for local nonprofits and charitable initiatives over the years.

The successful transition from satellite club to independent Rotary club demonstrates both the growth of the Clements Ferry area and the power of community-driven service organizations. As new neighborhoods continue to emerge throughout the region, the presence of an active Rotary Club ensures that residents have opportunities to connect, serve, and make a lasting difference close to home.

The Rotary Club of Clements Ferry welcomes any residents or business owners who are interested in joining our club. Please check out our website at clementsferryrotary.com or our Facebook page. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions, service project requests, or membership inquiries.
