Countdown To Park Day

This year’s Park Day will be held on Oct. 22. The day will officially be know as “Park Day, A Day of Giving on Daniel Island.”

Associating giving with Park Day is not a new concept.Last year’s Park Day festival raised over $30,000 for over 30 non-profit organizations. The island was filled not only with island residents but with folks from all over the lowcountry. They participated in 35 different activities and events sponsored by over 35 different organization. Over 80 volunteers helped pull off the event.

This coming year’s event promises to hold as much fun as last year’s.

But the goal of Park Day is not just fun. It is also used as a forum to raise awareness and funds for the participating non-profit organizations.

Last year’s participating non-profit organizations that received money and/or exposure from Park Day included: Coastal Jack Russell Rescue, Daniel Island Dog Park, English Springer Rescue America, Inc. ESRA, Fly Ball, Grateful Goldens Rescue of the Lowcountry, Greyhound Pets of America – Charleston, Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue Resource, Lowcountry Lab Rescue, Lowcountry Open Land Trust, Philip Simmons Foundation, S.T.A.R., South Carolina Birds of Prey, South Carolina Shrimpers Association,
