Food and fun planned for D.I. Super Bowl Sunday at Pierce Park Pavilion
Community Oyster Roast, Chili Cook-Off & Super Bowl Party
The Daniel Island Community Oyster Roast, Chili Cook-Off and Super Bowl Party is set for Sunday, Feb. 5 at Pierce Park Pavilion. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and food will be served until 6 p.m. Guests can then enjoy the game on a large screen under the Pavilion. Make sure to attend this fun afternoon and evening of oyster shuckin’ and eatin’ designed for the whole family. Enjoy succulent oysters and other menu items such as chili, pulled pork BBQ, hot dogs, chicken wings and macaroni & cheese. Bring your gloves and knives if you have them, if not they will be provided. ***image3***There will also be a chili cook-off contest with prizes. Categories for the Chili Cook-Off are: Best Hot & Spicy, Best Sweet Chili, Best Meatless Chili, Best Chili with Meat. . If you’d like to be one of the contestants, make sure to contact Barbara McLaughlin at the POA office no later than Friday, January 27 by calling 971-9200 ext. 101 or by email at b_mclaughlin@danielisland.com. There will be music for the adults and kids as well as a jump castle and marshmallow roasting pit. Stick around for the Super Bowl kickoff at 6 p.m. What better way to watch the Super Bowl with friends old and new – and best of all - you won’t even need to mess up or clean up your own home! The Super Bowl will be shown at the pavilion on a huge suspended screen. Be sure to show your team spirit by wearing your team colors. Prizes will be given for the adult and child with the Best Team Spirit costume or apparel. The Property Owners Assoc. asks that those of you who live in Etiwan Park, Codner’s Ferry Park and Cochran Park bring a plate of dessert/sweet treats and those of you who live in Center Park, Barfield Park, Pierce Park, Daniel Island Park and Condo owners at 254 Seven Farms Drive and Daniel’s Landing, bring a plate of tailgating snacks or hors d’oeuvres to share with others during the game. Please remember to bring it in a disposable container. RSVP deadline and payments are due at the POA office by Friday, January 27. Cost is $15.00 per person if received by January 27, (RSVP deadline) those received after January 27, will be $20.00 per person. Children 12 and under are FREE! DIBA Block Party "Under the ***image4***This month’s DIBA Block Party, themed "Under the Tuscan Moon", will be hosted by Cabinet Concepts, Inc., Sienna and Wachovia Mortgage and will feature exquisite Italian food, beer and wine and a captivating band sponsored by Daniel’s Landing. Please join these fine hosts as well as your friends, neighbors, co-workers and other local businesses on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. at the fabulous showroom of Cabinet Concepts, Inc. and the nearby heated tent located at 130 River Landing Drive near the entrance to Daniel’s Landing (on the left before the Real Estate Sales Center).
