Letter to the editor
My two young boys recently had the sweetest experience visiting Fire Station 18 on Daniel Island, after being tagged in a post on Facebook about the Fire Department finding my son Brody's artwork from preschool (Providence Preschool). Not only did the firefighters take the time to show them around the station, but they also went above and beyond by making Brody their very own drawing!
What may have seemed like a small gesture to the firefighters meant the world to my boys. They made them feel so special and created memories they'll be talking about for a long time.
As a Daniel Island resident and local Realtor, I often talk about what makes this community so wonderful, but experiences like this are exactly what I mean. It's not just the beautiful homes or surroundings; it's the people who make this island feel like home.
I would love to recognize Station 18 for the kindness and genuine care they show the families in our community. With so much negative news out there, I wanted to share this feel-good story!
