It’s clear that all the top players want to play Annika Sorenstam’s tournament, which means 50 of the top 50 and 94 of the top 100 on the ADT Official Money List are playing the inaugural Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA. The top 10 ranked players on the Rolex World Rankings are competing, along with sponsor exemptions Mackinzie Kline and Michelle Wie, who is ranked 24th.

No. 1-ranked Lorena Ochoa, who won her 10th and 11th career titles this year, stands on top of the money list and the world rankings. Sorenstam is right behind her in second place in the world rankings despite playing in only three events this season. The tournament host is returning after a six-week absence from competition following an injured back.

"We couldn’t ask for a better final field," said tournament director Kevin Krisle. "We have all the right ingredients to make this a superb event, and we are especially pleased that our host, Annika, is able to play. We have a perfect field, a prestigious host, outstanding sponsor exemptions and a dedicated and caring sponsor in Ginn Resorts."

Sorenstam will be looking to win her 70th career victory. The 2003 World Golf and LPGA Hall of Famer inductee has won 10 major championships, eight Rolex Player of the Year honors and six Vare Trophy awards. She is first on the career money list and is hosting her first LPGA tournament. Fellow Hall of Fame members Karrie Webb and Juli Inkster join her in the field.

Ochoa, Suzann Pettersen, Brittany Lincicome, Stacy Prammanasudh, Morgan Pressel, Paula Creamer, Mi Hyun Kim, Meaghan Francella and Silvia Cavalleri are all tournament winners in 2007. Pettersen, who has had four top-10s and two runner-up finishes, is second on the ADT Official Money list. Lincicome, who won the Ginn Open, has one runner-up finish and is third. Prammanasudh and Pressel are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. For ticket and tournament information, please visit www.ginntribute.com or contact the tournament office at 843-849-2380.

The RiverTowne Country Club was named the 2004 South Carolina Course of the Year by the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association. The 18-hole, par 72 layout measures 6,679 yards from the medal tees. Ginn Resorts commissioned golf legend Arnold Palmer to develop Charleston’s first Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course. The course includes 13 holes that wind along the Wando River and Horlbeck Creek. The five sets of tees on this 7,200-yard venue provide spectacular challenges that are meant to deliver a memorable golfing experience to every player of the game. RiverTowne Country Club received a 4.5-star rating in Golf Digest’s Places to Play in 2005.
