April 2018 Real Estate Report

In April of this year, 29 homes sold on Daniel Island. As of May 10, there were 218 homes for sale, with 124 active and 94 under contract. Total sales in April equaled $21,877,933.

According to Renee Reinert Pote of Iron Gate Realty, home sales in the month of April were comparable to April of last year. For instance, noted Pote, in April 2018 the numbers seemed to be holding steady with 29 home purchases. Of those 29 properties, 19 were under $700,000, two were in the $800,000s and eight were over $1 million. By comparison, in April 2017, a total of 27 homes sold with 21 under $700,000, one in the $900,000s and five over $1 million.

While the numbers are comparable to last year, Pote noticed that there does seem to be one trend that is different in 2018 compared to last year.

“We did notice an increase with days on market this April compared to April 2017,” remarked Pote.

“The majority of the homes last year in April sold within three months. However this year, there is an increase in days on market for the average home. That does not mean some homes will not sell in one day because we still do have that happening, just not as often as last year,” she added.
