December 2017 Real Estate Report

December was a slow month for real estate sales on Daniel Island. With only 22 homes selling during the month of December, it was the lowest it’s been in the last four years. As of Jan. 10, there were 146 homes for sale. Of those, 104 were active and 42 were under contract. Sales totaled $17,611,584. Seven homes sold for more than $1 million. The most expensive home sold was on Bellona Street in Daniel Island Park for $1,885,142. The least expensive home sold was a condo on River Landing Drive for $194,700.

Renee Reinert Pote of Iron Gate Realty noticed an interesting trend for December. A large portion of the homes sold were new construction.

“As the island nears the final stages of building, we found December sales to include a higher percentage of new homes compared to last year. Last December, approximately one third of the sales were new construction compared to 50 percent this December,” noted Pote.

A special thanks to Renee Reinert Pote of Iron Gate Realty for providing information regarding the status of real estate on Daniel Island.
