Home inventory slowly increases

Thirty homes sold on Daniel Island in June. As of July 7, there were 71 homes listed for sale. Of those, there were 29 active listings and 42 listings were under contract.
The total sales for the month were $56,576,160. The most expensive home sold in June was in Daniel Island Park on Iron Bottom Lane for $4.7 million. The least expensive home sold was a condo on River Landing Drive that sold for $322,000.
According to Renee Reinert Pote with Iron Gate Realty, inventory is continuing to slowly increase but the overall inventory number is still low when compared to previous years. Pote also advises buyers to do some homework before buying.
“Many buyers who sold their home making a nice profit decided to buy homes priced much higher than they spent on their last home. Make sure you estimate your property taxes based on your new price. For example, if you purchase your home in February 2023, your tax amount based on the value of your home will be based on the value of your home as of December 31, 2023. When home prices are increasing rapidly, your taxes could increase dramatically,” she adds.
