Home prices ‘increased considerably’ over past year

In June, 30 homes sold on Daniel Island. As of July 9, there were 101 homes listed for sale.
 
Of those, there were 67 active listings, and 34 listings were under contract.
 
The total sales for the month were $60,970,500. One home on Old Compass Road in the Parkside neighborhood sold for $7.5 million.
 
According to Renee Reinert Pote, with Cassina Real Estate Group, the stats for June remained typical for this time of year. The noticeable difference is the price of the homes for sale.
 
“The last three years, for the month of June, there were 30-31 properties sold. While the number of units/sales remained the same in June for these past three years, the price of the homes increased considerably,” she noted.
 
“We are still seeing activity in sales and low inventory continues to be a problem for buyers. Even though inventory is low, the pricing is staying steady in line with prior sales. So, buyers are not willing to pay higher than the true value of the home,” Pote added.
