Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island
These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. All meetings are open for public comment except the TRC meetings. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the most recent meeting on July 11, the construction plans for a mixed-use development known as The Waterfront (formerly River Landing Village) were given minor comments, and after in-house approval, it will go to Zoning for stamping. The committee also asked that the subdivision concept plan on Lesesne Street be revised and resubmitted. At the next meeting on July 18, the Wambaw DR Horton site plan and the Wando Village subdivision plat and roads plans will be discussed.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will be held on August 7. The agenda is not yet published.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The most recent meeting was held on July 16 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island or the Cainhoy peninsula discussed.
City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — At the most recent meeting on July 15, the request for conceptual approval for the construction of a commercial building at 873-877 Island Park Drive was discussed.
City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The most recent meeting was held on July 17 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island or the Cainhoy peninsula discussed.
