March 2017 Real Estate Report

Sales were higher in March than in February this year. Twenty eight homes sold in March compared to only 15 homes in February. And according to Hayden Jennings with Hayden Jennings Realty, with numbers like that, it is evident that the spring market is in full swing. As of April 14, there were 233 homes for sale. Of those, 155 were active and 78 were under contract. Sales in March totaled $20,556,506, which was just under 50 percent higher than last month.

Comparing this March to last March, there are several trends worth noting. Jennings says this March homes for sale are spending fewer days on the market at 36 days which is about 47 percent lower than last March. Also, he noted that homeowners who priced their homes fairly were faring well.

“Well priced properties were selling briskly while properties that were priced on the high side tended to take longer to sell,” Jennings said.

The most expensive home sold during March was a five bedroom 5.5 bath home located on Brailsford Street in Daniel Island Park. It sold for $2,777,297. The least expensive home sold was a one bedroom/one bath condo at 600 Bucksley Lane. It sold for $130,000.
