Summer Solstice Party at Waterfront Park

It’s officially summer! Sunshine lovers strolled late into the evening June 21 amid the shimmer of Daniel Island’s Waterfront Park to celebrate the northern hemisphere’s longest day of the year at the first Seize the Summer Solstice Party. Live music, food trucks and pop-up vendors from the likes of Beachables and Cook Jewelry welcomed the official start of summer as kids splashed through water fountains or took to a Wando River boat cruise from Coastal Expeditions. The sundown party was sponsored by the Hanahan-based Vapor Apparel Company with a portion of the proceeds benefiting two local nonprofits, Charleston Waterkeeper and the Coastal Expeditions Foundation, and their efforts to promote clean water and habitat conservation.
